Friday marks the 50th anniversary of Lewis' passing to greater glory, and it felt fitting to set aside time this week to read some of his words and to pray in thanksgiving for this departed saint who has meant so much in my life and in the life of so many.
O God of searing truth and
surpassing beauty, we give you thanks for Clive Staples Lewis whose sanctified
imagination lights fires of faith in young and old alike; Surprise us also with
your joy and draw us into that new and abundant life which is ours in Christ
Jesus, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for
ever. Amen.

I stopped by the other day to see what you've been writing about, lately, and stayed to read back to your essay about the craft of writing. I did slide by Tolkien; I've never fallen into that world. i noticed that as I read these recent essays, comments and answers and my own remembrances sprouted in my mind. I was engaged. I think when you can do that, it means your writing is getting stronger. Huzza, huzza!
