On the eve of arts camp, I thought I'd post another of our art projects from first grade year. The month we studied Degas, we drew ballet dancers with chalk on dark construction paper. Another great project idea from the Usborne Art Treasury. I joined in on this project, as you can see from the photo below.

Very cool! Summer weather always makes me think of drawing in chalk on the sidewalk, though I haven't done that in a long time. I should do something about that soon!
We love sidewalk chalk. :-) We did these back a couple of months or so ago on black construction paper...it made me realize how much fun it is to draw with chalks and pastels. Hadn't done that for a while!
